Travel

As the University is so centrally located, it is easily accessible by public transport. Hamburg's main station (Hauptbahnhof) is only 1.8km away, the train station Hamburg Dammtor (only one stop from the main station) is directly opposite the main university building.

If you arrive by plane, there is easy access by suburban train.
The S-Bahn (suburban rail network) line S1 operates every 10 minutes between Hamburg Airport and Hamburg's central railway station, Hauptbahnhof, a journey of only 25 minutes. The "Hamburg Airport (Flughafen)" S-Bahn station is directly in front of the terminals and is easily reached by lift, escalator or stairs.

Should you wish to travel by taxi, the journey can take up to 30 minutes (depending on traffic) and should cost around 25 - 30 EUR. Taxis can be found outside Terminals 1 & 2 on the arrivals level.
